Utilizing the same basic technology as the photo-finish cameras at the Olympic Games, Adam Magyar’s photographs are literally “slices of life.” To create these images, Magyar developed an innovative digital slit-scan camera to photograph the endless stream of pedestrians crossing a busy intersection. His camera remains stationary, capturing “sections of infinite time flowing by relentlessly, like our own life spans.” Magyar’s work invites the viewer to take a moment for self-reflection and to “feel that life is happening.”
