DescriptionThe subject of this 12 x 10 inch inkjet print on paper is a close-up, frontal view of a human skull positioned against a stark black background. A meticulously drawn grid-like pattern covers the skull. With the exception of the teeth, which remain unembellished, this black-and-white checkerboard covers the entire surface of the skull, including the hollows of its eye sockets and nasal cavity. Adapting to the skull’s crevices, contours, and irregularities, the grid of squares is occasionally stretched and distorted.Copyright© Gabriel Orozco
