DescriptionBlack and white scene of buildings, street, and electrical poles with white clouds in the sky. At the left of image is a pick-up truck, as seen from behind, with the bed open and what looks like several boards in the back. Straight-on view is of several fences and pile of windows stacked at right.Gallery LabelDuring the 1990s, Douglas L. Osa created many prints that captured the essence of the West Bottoms. After a 10-year hiatus, Osa returned to the area. "My interest in the West Bottoms was in capturing the rich blend of architecture and railroads that had evolved during the previous century," he notes. "By the late 1990s there was a revitalization underway and much of the old, dilapidated character of the area was being erased."
