DescriptionImage of a pair of binoculars created out of a white powdery substance on the dirt ground.Gallery LabelVik Muniz, a self-described "low-tech" illusionist, uses unconventional materials to create imagery that he records with his camera. Here, he has drawn a pair of binoculars on a patch of dirt using different hues of clay, soil, and organic materials. His choice of subject—a device used to enhance vision—emphasizes the importance of close looking.
