Andrea Locatelli, a well-known classical landscape painter in Rome in the first half of the 18th century, was much influenced by the classical landscapes of Claude Lorrain. Locatelli’s drawings, like Claude’s paintings, have a classical balance in the placementof the trees and feature antique ruins.
