DescriptionVermillion lacquered cup and cover with a fluted pattern on both. Lid can also be used as a saucer.Gallery LabelThis cup was made by coating a molded silk core with lacquer. It is therefore much thinner and lighter than a porcelain cup would be. Imagine drinking tea or soup from the cup. You would need first to remove the lid and, according to custom, place it on the table facing up.
