DescriptionThis is a quarter-plate daguerreotype in a brown leather case with a bright blue painted brass mat with gold detail; there is a plain red silk liner. The daguerreotype is of a girl standing between a man (on her right) and a woman (on her left), who are both seated. The girl holds open a book and appears to be reading it.
