DescriptionHalf-plate daguerreotype is of a full-length portrait of a man with no arms identified as Samuel Nellis. It has a brass mat with arched top edge. The case, which is red leather, resembles a book and has gilt ornamentation as well as the word "BIJOU" printed in gilt on the spine. The case front is detached. Daguerreotype case
