DescriptionImage of a man wearing a checkered scarf over his mouth and across his shoulders; a pocket watch is dangling from his mouth and a silver spoon is stuck in his hat. A hand is emerging from the background, and several objects, including an instrument, are placed on the table in front of him. This half-plate ambrotype is housed in an oval brass mat inside of a full leather push-button case with detached spine and "Root Gallery, Cook Artist, or. Chestnut & Fifth, Phil'a." embossed on the case.
