In the Public Eye: Photography and Fame. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, March 8 - June 15, 2008, no cat.
Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974) gained international fame as the first pilot to make a solo, nonstop flight from New York to Paris. His 1927 flight helped pave the way to modern commercial air travel. Significantly, Lindbergh is recorded here with the press photographers who helped make him a global celebrity.
