DescriptionVintage gelatin silver print of man sitting down, holding a gun. Signature on back of print. Swann's 4/24/96, lot 85.Gallery LabelThis raw, unsparing image derives from Tulsa, a project for which Larry Clark photographed a small circle of drug addicts in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, during the early 1970s. Often participating in the activities he pictured, Clark blurred the boundaries between objective observer and active participant. These candid images of violence and drug use were shocking at the time and remain a deeply unsettling vision of self-destruction and loss.
