Photographers of this era found new meaning, and even beauty, in the clear description of everyday scenes. A print of this image was featured in the landmark 1975 exhibition "New Topographics," at the George Eastman House, in Rochester, New York. This influential exhibition explored an unemotional and unidealized stylistic approach to the cultural landscape.
