In this intimate photograph, Nicholas Nixon photographs his wife Bebe holding their newborn daughter, Clementine. The soft expanse of Bebe’s flesh serves as a backdrop against which Clementine raise her tiny fist in a small but mighty assertion of her presence in the world.
