DescriptionImage of a stone building facade with bright red doors decorated with blue details. There are various weathered signs with Arabic lettering to the right of the doors.Gallery LabelThough better known for his black-and-white prints, Harry Callahan also worked in color throughout his career. He used it exclusively during the last two decades of his life. Freed from the darkroom, Callahan exposed film but did not print these photographs. Instead, he worked with a professional lab to produce works of stunning chromatic range. In this Egyptian street view, Callahan crafted a dynamic formal interplay between bold, saturated hues and subdued, layered tones.
