DescriptionThis work is a domed mammoth-plate albumen print on original mount, hand-signed in ink below image. The photograph was taken at Cathedral Rocks, Yosemite. Classical composition, with foreground and midground providing depth and leading the viewer to the main subject which is framed by sky. Most significant, though, is Watkins' use of light.
