Gallery Label
László Moholy-Nagy embraced the camera’s ability to transform ordinary visual experience and, in his words, bring something “entirely new into the world.” This elevated view of Rothenburg, a small medieval town in southern Germany, epitomizes his approach. The diagonal orientation and bird’s-eye vantage point transforms a quiet street scene into a boldly modern arrangement of shapes, textures, and light.
