DescriptionVertical format watercolor in blue, yellow, red-orange, green, brown, and gray washes with black ink sketch providing linear structure. The composition is architectural with loosely sketched human figures occupying multi-tiered spaces. The subject simultaneously recalls a circus, a ship deck and mast, and a theatrical stage. The top figure wears a striped shirt and balances on a tightrope. Three figures perform acrobatics on additional tension lines. Three figures stand on the ground line. The color sections allude to cloth swags and drapery hung from wires and scaffolding.CopyrightThis work is copyrighted. Contact the copyright holder for permission to reproduce.
