DescriptionLate winter landscape, with man in foreground, wearing brown winter coat and light blue stocking cap, facing left, 3/4-length, cresting the top of a hill; in middle distance, a pasture, now straw-colored with numerous tire ruts filled with snow; further back, left to left-center, four stone buildings along the Brandywine River bank; in distance, a hilly ridge, covered with leafless vegetation and patches of snow, risin up from the river valley below.
