Gallery LabelThese majestic hawks gain their colorful plumage not from glazes but from multi-hued clays wedged together to create a richly patterned surface. Originally thought to be of Asian origin, these rare hawks are decidedly English, modeled after Japanese or Chinese porcelain and metal examples.
