[1] In letter dated June 19, 1934 from Arthur Upham Pope to J. C. Nichols (NAMA curatorial files), Pope wrote of his recent return to Oxford from Persia.  This bowl is one of three ceramic objects acquired for our museum during the trip to Persia.
