Gallery LabelLaddie John Dill is identified with the 1970s West Coast light and space movement, and many of his sculptures suggest core samples of the light-filled sky.
In L.A. International Airport, Dill achieves elegant clarity by applying fluorescent paint to the inside of slender glass tube segments. Illuminated by the electrical interaction of argon and helium gases, shimmering pastel hues and spare verticality combine to create a work of resonance.
