Exhibition History[No known exhibitions at this time]
Large decorative panels like this were a specialty of the Art Nouveau artist and printmaker Paul Berthon. Here we see the hallmarks of the Art Nouveau style: flattened forms, long graceful lines and motifs depicting plants and the human figure. Berthon’s style and technique were both cutting edge. He used color lithography (a form of printmaking using a stone or plate), which was relatively new in the 1890s.
