Gallery LabelThose everyday moments that some artists might overlook in favor of more dramatic sources of inspiration were often just the sort of occurrences that sparked Benton’s muse. The quiet calm that accompanies the end of a hard day’s work pervades this lithograph. The fact that this print is sometimes called Arkansas Evening, transporting the scene to another region of the country, is a testament to the likelihood that similar scenes could occur on any number of farms across many states.
