[1] According to dealer Marc Leo Félix, in documentation provided at the time of the object’s purchase, NAMA curatorial files. This is probably Carl K. Provost (1931-1994), a Belgian collector who lived in Africa from 1964-1973 and later opened a gallery in Houston, Texas.
[2] Félix's stock number is written on the underside of the object.
