Gallery LabelThis painting combines the boneless application (motif without outline) with fine outlines. The autumn-colored leaves harmonize with the demure chrysanthemums, illustrated with pink flowers and light blue and green foliage. The bold, colored strokes are vigorously swiped to the degree that the forms become abstract. Take a close look: the painter carefully adds a hibiscus behind the foliage and a bee descending onto an autumn leaf.
