Lord Seafield (1663?1730) was a Scottish politician. He was a signatory to the Union of England and Scotland of 1707, and represented Scotland in the new unified parliament of Great Britain. The engraving shows him as a handsome, stubborn man clad in the robes of the Chancellor of Scotland.
