Markingspart A: stem, exterior near bottom edge: a lion passant, sovereign's head, makers mark "MB", date letter "P", and an anchor.
part B: arms, three bobeches stamped with makers mark and lion passant on the vertical surface which fits into the candle holder. Bobech #4 not hallmarked.
part C: top finial with candle holder, stamped with makers mark and lion passant in same place as on the other bobeches. The holder itself is stamped with "MB", only located just above the threaded connector.
part D: decorative piece between "c" and "b", this piece hallmarked with the five stamps noted above; located on the bottom surface beside the threaded connector. Engraved armorial device with motto on stem: "DIU/ DELIBERA/ CITO FAC". The arms are of Davy of Beckley in Sussex, and of Suffolk and Wiltshire, quartering either Richardson of Sussex (or possibly Randle). The crest is of Davy.

DescriptionCircular stepped and gadrooned base, fluted where base joins central conical stem; acanthus leaves above 2 bulbous knops at base of stem, flattened urn-shaped knop at top where four outward turning arms with candle sockets attach; central cup.
