DescriptionPositioned centrally in the painting, a woman sits in front of a brick chimney and reads a newspaper on a rooftop. Her left arm is raised. A strong breeze blows her black hair and ruffles the pages of the paper. To the left of the chimney rests a potted tree, apparently quite dead.
