NOTES:

[1] An invoice from Nagatani, Inc. for Sickman's purchase of "one Chinese 1800 AD Huang Yang wood carving of standing graceful Kuan Yin, holding a jar" is in the Nelson-Atkins Archives, MSS001 Laurence Sickman Papers, box 7, folder 7. It is not known definitively if this invoice pertains to this particular object, but it is the best option based on its description among the objects from Sickman's collection.
