DescriptionExpressively painted head in 3/4 profile facing to left. Open screaming mouth, large teeth, and sunken cheeks. Overall palette is warm - brown, gold, orange, red - with black and white to heighten dramatic chiaroscuro. Anguished, hellish face with distorted undulating facial contours that make the face appear to be melting.Copyright© Louis and Elsie Freund Estate / Jerry Bedford
