DescriptionOval, vase-shaped body on domed oval foot. Hinged oval cover is domed, with urn-shaped finial; curved spout is round in cross section. Body is fluted with continuous frieze just above spot of bright-cut floral engraving. Convex area below cover is gadrooned along rim and chased with repeating foliate leaf motif. Wood handle, possibly ebony, with an acanthus-leaf thumbpiece. This coffee pot was probably made to match the tea set (F85-23/2-4).
