DescriptionShape of the dish follows the silhouette of the robes of a courtesan in the Yamoto-e style of the Heien period; folds outlined in underglaze blue with some borders in underglaze blue; the remaining layers of folds colored in overglaze green, iron-red, paly yellow, ochre, turquoise, black-grey, and gold enamels; the exterior decorated overall with peony and tendril pattern, and the foot with comb design, all in underglaze blue.ProvenanceWith Oriental Art Gallery, New York, by November 25, 1966;
