DescriptionImage of a man standing on a wooden platform near gold mining equipment including a paddled water wheel that is partially submerged in a body of water. Other men are scattered along the rocky hillside near a house and mature trees. This half plate daguerreotype is housed in a brass mat with rounded corners (no preserver) inside a traditional brown leather case with an embossed rust colored velvet liner. The case depicts a circular structure with columns and a tall plinth rising from the center.Published References
