DescriptionPortrait of a bearded man seated at a desk with his legs crossed and a pen in his hand. He wears a suit and looks at the viewer with a furrowed brow. Above the desk are perfectly shelved books and small cubbies, which hold stacks of folded papers and bills. A nameplate on the center shelf reads, "AC BROWN". This whole plate ambrotype is housed in an oval brass mat inside of a traditional American style case (decorative paper or leather covered wooden case) with a detached lid and a burgundy velvet liner.Provenance
