The bridge is one of Siah Armajani's most important subjects. It permits passage, links two separate locations and thus facilitates communication. The artist has also designed numerous reading rooms, communicative and educational spaces where all have equal access to knowledge, according to the promises of democracy. Similarly, the book is a vehicle of communication and represents the embodiment of ideas through the form of a bridge and/or written language.
