Ellsworth, Ltd. dated October 15, 1976 in the Nelson-Atkins curatorial files, documenting Bunting’s purchase of a Japanese scroll painting of a crow by Rosetsu, includes a handwritten note: “returned for credit on Chinese gilt bronze later purchased by the Gallery from the Estate as 81-32.”
