DescriptionIn this vertically oriented composition, a woman with brown skin sits outdoors on a stairway playing a bright blue guitar. The stairway is covered with patches of green moss. It leads up to a double doorway with glass windows, though only the very bottom portion of the doorway is visible at the top of the composition. A few potted plants and flowers line each side of the stairway. The woman sits in the center of the composition in three-quarters view. She is slightly turned to the right so that both of her legs are visible. She wears a navy blue patterned bandana in her dark brown hair as well as red-framed glasses, a camisole, shorts that are mostly hidden behind the bright teal body of the guitar, and black flip-flop sandals. She looks at her proper left hand on the neck of the guitar as she strums the strings with her proper right hand.Exhibition History
