DescriptionImage of people wearing swimsuits standing in front of a concession stand; we see them from behind. There are two small children that look up to see over the bar and one young boy who stands with his left hand on his hip, his feet partially slipped into his lace-up shoes.Gallery LabelYasuhiro Ishimoto photographed public life extensively in post-World War II Chicago. To take this photograph of a beachside concession stand, Ishimoto positioned his camera at the height of a child rather than at the elevated view of an adult. This distinct and playful perspective centers the experience of eager young customers and a point of view that highlights the summertime joys of sandy feet and clinging, wet swimsuits.
