DescriptionImage of nine gold miners similarly dressed holding picks and shovels. Five of the men have hand-painted red shirts and stand in a sluice as the others stand nearby on the rocky shore. Narrow trees line the background. This half plate daguerreotype is housed in a brass mat inside of an unadorned leather covered wooden case with a red velvet liner.Provenance
