DescriptionImage of a seated man with full beard and hair pulled back at the nape of his neck. He wears a heavy jacket with finge and holds a rifle in his lap as he looks toward the viewer. This quarter plate daguerreotype is housed in a brass mat inside a dark brown Union Case with an embossed rust-colored velvet liner. The case depicts a cherub holding the horns of a deer with an arrow in his side; they are surrounded by birds and vines.ProvenancePurchased from Photographies 12703, Christie's, Paris, France, November 10, 2016, lot 59 by The Hall Family Foundation, Kansas City, MO, 2016;
