[1] According to Marc Leo Félix, in email correspondence with MacKenzie Mallon, Specialist, Provenance, February 13, 2023, NAMA curatorial files.

[2] A note from Dr. May Weber (1918-2012), a Chicago collector, to Donald Tranin, dated June 10, 1993, indicates Weber was in possession of Félix’s brochure on the object, and was forwarding that brochure to Tranin at Félix’s request. Weber had likely been considering purchasing the comb, but ultimately decided not to do so.
