DescriptionFive photographs mounted vertically - each depicting a body of water with increased detail. The top image is the widest view of the landscape showing sky with a small section of land and water below; the bottom image is the most detailed and is of man standing on pebbles with only shoes and a small corner of the water visible.Gallery LabelFlying B-17 bombers during the Second World War transformed John Wood’s way of seeing the world—in this case, the Rio Grande, a river that forms part of the border between Mexico and the United States.
“The changes of space that take place as you go from looking out at the horizon straight ahead to moving up where you may be looking down, where there’s no horizon, are the kinds of things that have activated my work, more than any romantic notion of landscape.”
