Abelardo Morell has always been fascinated by photography’s capacity to transform everyday objects and spaces through simple manipulations of light, scale, vantage point and perspective. In this image, Morell turns a simple shadow cast by a pencil into a monumental form, far more intriguing and mysterious than it would otherwise appear to the human eye.
