In the Public Eye: Photography and Fame. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, March 8 - June 15, 2008, no cat.
Richard Nixon (1913-1994) had a long and contentious political career. He was Dwight D. Eisenhower's vice-president from 1953 to 1961. After an unsuccessful presidential bid in 1960, he won in 1968 and again in 1972. In 1974, as a result of the Watergate scandal, he began the first American president to resign the office.
