This photograph is from an extended body of night photographs. Here, the subtlety of the image reflects something important about the landscape it depicts. The more intently we look, the more there is to see.  Since the early 1970s, Tom Arndt has documented the life and landscape of his native state of Minnesota and the northern Great Plains region. Arndt works simply, typically with a 35mm camera and black-and-white film, recording both people and places with quiet insight.
