DescriptionThis papyrus joins two important scenes: the deceased meeting Osiris and the triumph of Re in the Underworld. The deceased, on the proper left side, has journeyed to the Underworld, where the gods have favorably judged his life and character. He now prays before Osiris. In the middle scene, Re grasps the wings of the serpent Apophis. In the next scene on the proper right, the snake-headed goddess Hepetethor lifts a snake and Re. Re now rises to give morning's light to the world above. The four figures to the left are Osiris and before them is the two-headed god of time. Khnum and another deity are between Osiris and Re.Provenance
