Gallery LabelIn these two prints we see female bodies with poetic text written on the spine and across the palms of the artist's hands. The texts refer to the healing quality of the human soul but also references the healing quality of art, poetry and belief. The spine represents the highway of communication between the brain and body, and Dill seems to be exploring the elusive boundaries among mind, body and spirit. The rich, warm darkness of the prints' tonality is a quality of the etching process that gives the impression of a patina acquired over time, reminding us of photographs from a past era.
