DescriptionMallet-shaped bottle with flaring mouth and two lug handles on shoulder; decorated with plum blossoms on one side in punched reserves filled with white glaze; light buff body, burned brown where exposed, covered with thick treacle glaze; large rim chip fell away during firing and fused to shoulder; illegible instriction on side, base stamped with maker's mark: Kyû-ko, Shôan-ji. Box lid inscription dated 1717.
